German Artist, based in Aotearoa & Australia
Hey there! My name is Emily. Next to creative endeavours, a lot of my time is spent outdoors. The serenity I experience amongst the trees and next to the ocean has strongly influenced my artistry.
Within my craft, I combine the precision of pointillism with themes drawn from science, nature and social topics. This side of my creative approach involves intuitive mark-making and is mostly created on wooden boards using acrylic markers and ink. Through this technique, I explore the details and connections within the natural world, the meaning of negative space and the illusion of movement.
Apart from that, I let my imagination run freely, resulting in vibrant, playful illustrations (often nature inspired) and quirky characters. These works come alive on cotton paper or digitally. I usually utilize watercolour, acrylic paint, ink and markers.
